Mini Mallee Burl Vase

I transformed an Australian mallee burl or burr into a beautiful mini vase. Used clear epoxy resin and painted the burl with coloured golden sparkly resin to enhance the effects. When working on hybrid woodturning project like this I use negative rake carbide tips what woks great on resin to reduce (stop) any chip out while turning on the lathe. Wet sanded all the way to 3000grit and a light polish and buff to bring the shine out.
